Salón Gourmets, the largest show dedicated to delicatessen products in Europe, celebrates its 38th edition from 7 to 10 April 2025. IFEMA MADRID will host an intense programme of activities including competitions, tastings, presentations, show cookings and conferences.
The most exclusive Food and Beverage Fair in Europe takes place over more than 65,000 m2 of exhibition space, bringing together around 2000 prestigious companies, meticulously selected in each case. There will be many professional buyers from the catering sector, gourmet distribution (department stores, deli shops…), Horeca and hotel chains, among others.
This is the largest annual event in the food and drinks sector and has a special guest country each year. In 2024, it was the turn of Morocco, and Andalusia was the guest region.
As every year, this show will include various competitions, some of which are now classics in the sector. This is the case of the Dehesa de Extremadura Ham Slicers Contest; the Spanish Tierra de Sabor Sommeliers Championship; and the Grupo Gourmets Spanish Écailleurs / Sorlut / Oyster Shucking Championship, where experts will compete to shuck thirty oysters as quickly as possible.
There will also be the Cisoria El Encinar de Humienta / Grupo Gourmets National Art Championship with the most skilled meat slicers, and the Estrella Galicia Spanish Gourmet Pizzas Championship. Throughout the exhibition, in addition to show cookings, presentations, master classes, pizzaiolos will compete to take the top spot in the eight championship categories: classic, alla Pala, taglio, Napoletana, gluten free, più largo and speed.
Salón Gourmets is the largest European event dedicated exclusively to delicatessen products and one of the largest showcases in the world for high-end food and beverages. The fair has a purely commercial spirit, which is why it is aimed exclusively at national and international professionals in the hospitality industry, restaurants, food distribution, catering, specialised trade, etc.
Gourmets Hall - Edition 2024
Salón Gourmets finished its 2024 edition with an excellent turnout. 1980 exhibitors, around 55,000 products, an intense programme of around 1000 activities and more than 100,000 visitors.
The most popular thematic areas were the 28th wine tunnel / MAPA, where visitors could sample the best single grape variety wines in the country; the Best of the Gourmet Wines Guide (LMG) space, showcasing wines with a score of at least 90 points that have the honour of being included in the 39 GVG 2024; the 6th EVOO tunnel / MAPA, dedicated to Extra Virgin Olive Oil; and the Cheese Tunnel, with the 100 finalists of GourmetQuesos. Visitors also flocked to the Innovation Area, with the latest launches on the market (1328 new references), and the Organic Exhibition Area, focused on organic products.
